Chase Bank continues to grow in size with its acquiring of Washington Mutual back in 2008 as well as the many perks given to businesses with its new credit card offerings to help these mid-size companies.

How are investments looking for Chase? Recent Chase CD rates are down just like any other bank out there right now, and their money market rates may not be too appealing, but Chase does offer some CD specials if you have a little more money than the average person to invest. For their regular certificate of deposits, only $1000 is required to invest.

Below is a list of the average CD investments for short and long terms with Chase Bank, starting with 6 months and ending up and 36 months. These rates are good as of May 13, and are subject to change by the bank at any time.

6-Month – 0.25%

12-Month – 0.25%

18-Month – 0.75%

24-Month – 1.01%

36-Month – 1.01%

These rates may not look too appealing, but as mentioned in the outset, if you have the money to invest, then there are special rates which can be as much as 3 times these rates for various terms.

Check out the Chase CD rates Specials below for investments of up to $10,000. These rates are also good as of May 13 2010. and are subject to change at any time by Chase bank. Please check with a bank associate for further investing.

9-Month – 0.50%

13-Month – 0.75%

30-Month – 1.50%

36-Month – 2.00%

48-Month – 2.50%

60-Month – 3.00%

These rates are quite a difference as you can see, and if you don’t mind having your money tied up for 36 months, a rate of 2 percent is not bad considering what many other banks are offering.

The days of 6% CD’s is over for right now, so this is the next best thing until the economy recovers. If you prefer local banking, you can also find rates in the upper 2% range with a lot less money required to invest. This may be a more ideal option for you if you do not have $10,000 to put into a Chase CD.

Looking back on the past few weeks of bank rates we will cover CD rates from various banks from the last month. Remember that these rates are subject to change and are good as of 4/2/10.

Northstar Bank of course as of right now is providing a 1 year CD at 1.45% APY which is about average.

Visions FCU had a slightly better CD rates at 2.02% APY for 12 months. They are based in New York for those interested.

Unfortunately Smartypig was not offering much on their 12 month CD which was 1.25% APY compared to their savings account which yields 2.01% APY.

Goldwater Bank CD rates are right at 1.56% APY for 12 Months. Currently the 5 year CD is their most attractive.

Doral Bank has a solid 12 month CD for the current economic situation at 1.90% APY. You can find other rates above 2% but this is a little above average.

This is the recap of the past several weeks, and should be noted that these rates are subject to change. Most of the banks mentioned are not nation wide banks, but are small local banks to various states around the US. Many of these types of banks are showing the best potential for those looking for a decent rate on a CD as well as Savings accounts.

We also encourage you to shop online for banks with low overhead which are able to offer a higher rate. Remember the FDIC insures all these banks so the risk is minimal on these investments. For further CD rates on shorter terms such as 6 months, and 3 months please check our other range specific pages. Remember that with this bad economy, it is many times best to take a CD rate on a shorter periods of time in case markets change. As low as the current rates are, it will be tough to get any lower from banks.
